The Strong Kids Campaign is the YMCA’s annual appeal to raise funds which underwrite youth and family programs as well as provide financial aid.  Over the last several years, the need in our community has increased dramatically, as reflected in our level of financial assistance awards.  In 2008, the Y awarded $140,000 in aid. Just 3 years later, that number has more than tripled to $475,000.  To support our neighbors in need and to meet this continuing increase in requests for financial assistance, the Y’s Strong Kids Campaign is one of our highest priorities across all levels of the Rye Y family.

The campaign’s appeal takes many forms, including sending letters and pledge cards throughout the year to members of the community.  Our Board of Directors is also directly engaged in reaching out to friends and neighbors to help explain the urgency of our fundraising initiatives.  Events such as March Madness, the Derby and Golf Outing also support the Strong Kids Campaign.

Your gift to the Rye Y’s Strong Kids Campaign allows our doors to remain open and accessible to all regardless of financial circumstances.  In these economic times, your annual gift is more important than ever to help sustain financial aid, subsidize programs, and support vital community outreach services that only the Y can provide.
